In 2013 it merged with Louis Berger with the aim of expanding its portfolio of international engineering projects and optimizing the development and delivery of complex infrastructure and energy projects to its global clients. 

In 2018, WSP acquired Louis Berger and turned APIA XXI into WSP Spain-Apia S.A.: its first branch in Spain, established with the aim of strengthening and expanding its presence in Europe. WSP Spain works closely with its clients, construction companies and concessionaires around the world, offering innovative design solutions, technology and value engineering in their infrastructure projects and providing global expertise in the areas of design and construction, concessions and renewable energy.
