Xavier University School of Medicine is an accredited medical school based in Oranjestad, Aruba. It is the island's only accredited medical school, offering a program designed to shorten the path to practicing medicine in the United States while maintaining educational standards. The curriculum combines two years of medical education in Aruba with 72 weeks of clinical rotations at affiliated hospitals across the United States, enabling graduates to pursue ACGME-accredited residencies in diverse specialties in the U.S. and Canada. Founded in 2004 and chartered by the government of Aruba with authorization from the Ministry of Education, the school positions itself as a conduit between Caribbean medical education and North American clinical training. In 2024, it launched the Shaping Xavier Scholarship to provide full-tuition support to selected students. The institution serves prospective medical students seeking a path to U.S. residency training and maintains affiliations with U.S. teaching hospitals to support that pipeline.
