Based in Milpitas, Calif., Xulu Entertainment (www.xulu.com) is an online casual gaming and virtual world company that, through advanced game physics, has developed a next-generation social media platform. We’re a small group with deep technical, entertainment and social roots that have worked full-time on this project since late 2007. As pre-cursors to Xulu, we’ve founded software, robotics and media companies.

The Xulu team includes Jim Solomon (Executive Chairman) the founder of Cadence Design systems (CDNS), a billion dollar revenue software design automation company. Xulu’s CTO, Joe Santos, was the top software developer at Cadence. CEO Nanci Solomon founded three media companies. The Xulu team also has deep technical and creative expertise in digital art, film, tools and simulation from veterans of Disney and Lawrence Livermore. The team also has about 100 man-years experience developing a pre-broadband virtual world.

Together, we previously developed a pioneering story-based virtual world with environments, characters and vehicles designed by artists from Star Wars and Fifth Element. We built dynamics models for vehicles like spacecraft, hovercraft, wheeled vehicles, airplanes, helicopters and gliders. And within this context, we designed multi-player exploration, harvesting, high-action and table games. The assets and learning from this are integral parts of Xulu.
