Youth For Understanding (YFU) is one of the world's oldest, largest, and most respected international exchange organizations. The German YFU organization (Deutsches Youth For Understanding Komitee e.V.) is one of the largest and oldest youth exchange organizations in Germany with the goal to build understanding across boundaries and help young people develop into responsible members of their societies. YFU Germany is a non-profit membership-based association that conducts long-term intercultural youth exchange programs for over 1500 students every year with over 50 partner countries. It conducts its activities with the help of over 4000 volunteers and 60 employees, many of whom are YFU program alumni themselves.
