The Young Women’s Resource Center is a Des Moines, Iowa-based nonprofit in the individual and family services sector, founded in 1978 to provide services tailored to young women aged 10 to 21 in central Iowa. It delivers support, education, and advocacy through partnerships in schools, community organizations, and at its Center. The center’s mission is to help young women cultivate confidence and achieve success, with a shared vision that they reach their full potential; all services are voluntary, confidential, and free. The organization serves central Iowa’s young women with a small to mid-sized team. In 2024, the center named Rachel Woodhouse as interim executive director while the board searches for its next leader. A counselor joined the staff in October 2023, reflecting ongoing direct client support.
