Since our founding in Atlanta in 1902, YWCA Greater Atlanta has been dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Our organization is built upon mobilizing diverse groups of women leaders to identify community problems, advocate for solutions, and create more equitable communities in Georgia. YWCA Greater Atlanta's current programs, operating from our headquarters in Virginia Highland, include:
The Early Learning Academy provides high-quality early childhood education, emphasizing the importance of early learning experiences. The Early LearningAcademy serves 180 children from 6 weeks through 5 years
The Digital Skills Academy empowers women, focusing on career readiness, business skills, and digital literacy. The program's impact goes beyond measurable outcomes, as it transforms participants' lives and creates new opportunities. DigitalSkills Academy serves up to 200 women each year.
ENCOREplus® is a community-based breast cancer awareness program designed to educate and increase breast cancer early detection among underserved and uninsured women. ENCOREplus serves more than 800 women each year.
The Georgia Women's Policy Institute is a leadership and advocacy training program empowering women to influence public policy and advocate for social change. GWPI provides state level advocacy education to more than 40 women each year, including a cohort of Spelman College undergraduate students.
After completing a successful $19.5 million capital campaign, construction on the Phillis Wheatley Westside YWCA renovation began in May 2025. We anticipate opening in 2026.
