Zitius Service Delivery operates fiber-to-the-home open access networks in Sweden, enabling wholesale access for multiple service providers to deliver triple-play packages—Internet, telephony, and television—to end users. The network is designed to provide equal value to all providers on the shared infrastructure, supporting competition and a broader range of choices for subscribers, which can lead to lower prices. Based in Stockholm, Sweden, the company was founded in 2003 by founders with backgrounds in information technology and telecommunications. A milestone in its early activity was activating the first subscriber by the end of 2003 and, by 2006, securing a contract with Järfällabygdens Hus AB and Svenska Bostäder to provide triple-play services to 26,000 households in Stockholm via FTTH. In January 2011, Zitius was acquired by Quadracom; at that time the network had linked seven of Sweden's ten largest property owners and connected more than 160,000 households and enterprises, with a subsidiary established in Brazil. These developments illustrate the company's role in building open-access fiber networks and facilitating wholesale access for multiple providers within Sweden's telecommunications landscape.
