Zuma Energía is a private Mexican company that develops, owns, and operates large-scale wind and solar projects to supply clean energy for the Mexican market. Founded in 2014 and based in Mexico City, it contributes to the country’s energy transition by delivering sustainable power through its portfolio. The company runs electricity-generating facilities across Sonora, Chihuahua, Tamaulipas, Oaxaca, and Jalisco, with an installed capacity of 1.3 GW—474 MW of wind and 856 MW of solar. Since 2020 it has been part of SPIC, a global energy group that supports its decarbonization goals and the reliability of electricity supply. In late 2023, Zuma Energía expanded its asset base by taking a stake in the 216-MW Jaguar Solar portfolio in Mexico. The company has grown through acquisitions in recent years, including the Potrero solar park in Jalisco in 2022.
