Val-Ed Joint Venture dba 702 Communications is a locally owned and operated Competitive Local Exchange Carrier in Moorhead, MN. Our retail division provides services that include business and residential phone service, Internet access via DSL, DSX, OCX, and Ethernet, and video services via Dish Network in select apartment buildings. Our transport division strives to deliver high-capacity circuits such as T1, T3 and Ethernet in the West Fargo, Fargo, Moorhead, Dilworth, Wahpeton and Breckenridge markets over our own fiber facilities. Any circuits on 702-owned facilities are considered “on-net.” Target customers for 702’s Transport division include major banks, hospitals, educational institutions, cell providers, local ISPs and enterprise manufacturing firms as well as Independent and Incumbent LECs for interexchange connectivity. 702 provides wholesale services that include the wholesaling of bandwidth, Long Distance, and fiber transport. In addition, 702 provides network engineering, management and monitoring for regional transport and data networking. Val-Ed Joint Venture was formed in 1989 by six independent telephone companies to provide interactive educational video to the schools in their serving areas.
