The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), founded in 1979, is the leader in ambulatory health care accreditation with over 6,100 organizations accredited nationwide. AAAHC accredits a variety of ambulatory health care organizations including ambulatory surgery centers, office-based surgery centers, primary care practices, managed care/health plan organizations, community health centers, student health centers, and large medical and dental group practices.

The AAAHC serves as an advocate for the provision of high quality health care through the development of nationally recognized Standards. It also offers ambulatory health care organizations of all types and specialties, a unique peer-based review system that adopts a collaborative, consultative and educational approach. The AAAHC Certificate of Accreditation demonstrates an organization’s commitment to provide safe, high quality services to patients. It is recognized as a symbol of quality by third party payers, medical organizations, liability insurance companies, state and federal agencies and the public.
