ACRIA is a New York-based research services organization focused on HIV, working toward a world where all people with HIV receive treatment and support and transmissions are eliminated. Founded in 1991 by physicians, activists, and people living with HIV, it introduced a community-based, activist approach to studying new HIV treatments and has contributed to the development of 20 FDA-approved medicines. The organization operates from New York City with a relatively small staff.

Its work spans Research Programs and a Training Center that educate HIV-positive individuals and caregivers worldwide, and the Center on HIV & Aging is recognized as an international authority on aging and HIV.
