Alabama Copy Systems was founded in 1975 and operated as Selma Office Machines for over 10 years until its expansion into the Birmingham and Tuscaloosa markets in 1988. In the early years the company sold and serviced calculators, IBM typewriters, personal computers and printer products as well as copiers manufactured by Ricoh Corporation. The company focused on its ability to provide products and services to create a one stop total office solution for its customers. As Alabama Copy Systems approached the 21st century the company began to take on a new identity as digital equipment became the standard in the market place. In 1999 the company joined forces with a growing computer network services company at which time ACS Technologies was born. The company’s main philosophy of customer “document output” soon changed to include “network input” and create a solutions oriented company where document management was the main focus. ACS Technologies quickly became the largest Ricoh digital solutions provider in the state. As we approach 2012 we celebrate 34 years in the industry and currently service the greater Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery and Selma markets.
