A.D. Players Theater is a Houston-based organization in the entertainment sector with a long history dating to 1967. Founded by Jeannette Clift George, the troupe began performing in 1968 and established a Touring Company in 1975, expanding its reach to international stages. The late 1970s saw the purchase of the Grace Theater building, a step that accompanied continued growth in facilities and programming. The organization combines live theatre production with youth education through the Theater Arts Academy, which began by offering drama classes for children. Its Touring Company travels to performances beyond Houston, extending its reach to international audiences, and the group helped establish Houston's first year-round children's theater at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church Rotunda. In the early 1990s, Saint Street Annex was developed to house the costume shop, rehearsal spaces, the Touring Company, and the Academy.
