THE SEEDS
In 2011, our founder Kate embarked on a life-changing journey to the Tibetan Plateau. She returned with a renewed connection to nature that led her down a path of self-discovery and mindfulness. It ignited a wanderlust for traversing the globe in search of rare ingredients that fuse nature into skincare science.

THE ROOTS
While in Tibet, she was introduced to the wild-crafted Seaberry. A golden fruit that is cherished for its therapeutic skincare properties. The Tibetan locals cold press the berries for their rich amber oil. After experiencing a noticeable improvement in her own sensitive skin, she decided to share its healing benefits by creating Akar.
