Akron Polymer Systems’ (APS) primary mission is to utilize our extensive polymer expertise to develop high performance polymer products for demanding applications. APS’ products rely on our in-depth understanding of how molecular structure affects performance. This expertise has enabled us to develop products with very unique combinations of thermal, mechanical and optical properties. Polymer products for aerospace, alternative energy, biomedical and display applications have been developed and are now offered for sale. We also offer a series of unique monomers that can be used to tailor polymer properties. In addition to our internal product development efforts, we often collaborate with other companies and institutions on the development of new polymer materials. Normally such work is carried out under a Joint Development Agreement (JDA). APS is currently working with several Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 companies under such agreements. APS also offers toll manufacturing of monomers and polymers. These custom synthesis activities often include the scale up of experimental procedures to pilot plant levels.
