Alabama Arise is a statewide nonprofit, nonpartisan coalition that unites congregations, community groups, and individual members to address the impact of state policy on low-income residents. The network includes about 150 member organizations and individuals. Through policy work, advocacy, and organizing, it aims to shape state policies around adequately funding education, health care, housing, public transit, and the justice system; reforming tax policy to raise revenue fairly; payday and title lending reform; and preserving safety-net programs. Based in Montgomery, Alabama, Alabama Arise operates as a statewide advocacy organization. In 2024, it launched Think Big Alabama, a four-part advocacy training program designed to build media, public policy, and grassroots organizing skills in underserved communities.
