Founded in 1921 and based in Montgomery, Alabama, the Alabama Farmers Federation is a statewide organization created and led by farmers to serve rural farming communities. Its mission is to promote the economic, social and educational interests of rural Alabamians. As the state's largest, most active and diversified farm organization, it has grown to more than 460,000 members statewide, speaking with a unified voice on policy matters at both the state and federal levels. The federation serves as a central voice for agriculture in Alabama, engaging policymakers in Montgomery and Washington. The federation operates within the broader food and beverage manufacturing landscape by supporting farmers through programs and events that address industry issues and community development. It hosts forestry and wildlife seminars and the Young Farmers Conference, and in May 2026 it welcomed Madison Thrailkill as a summer intern.
