American Iron Gym is a sports performance training center in Reno, Nevada. Owners Robert (Bob) and Tammy Lopes have shared a passion and commitment for the sport of powerlifting 30+ years. Bob has coached lifters from their first day in the gym to their International podium finishes with bronze, silver and gold medals in the World Games, Pan American Games, World Invitational meets, and IPF Worlds. Former Open 7x National Champion, 1993 IPF World Champion, and 1994 World Record holder Tammy (DiAnda) Lopes, has also had the privilege of not only competing under but coaching along her husband’s side. Their son Daniel Lopes, an accomplished lifter himself, is following in their footsteps. They have all the necessary equipment in their 15,000 sq. foot facility to prepare a lifter to compete at an elite level. The facility includes 2 IPF-style racks, 13 power racks, 2 Mono-Lift, 4 Olympic platforms, 8 Deadlift platforms, Ivanko competition certified powerlifting plates and bars, bands, chains, and high-level athletic training equipment to create a balanced strength athlete in a positive and supportive training environment.
