The American Society of Hematology (ASH) is a nonprofit professional organization focused on hematology. It is the world’s largest professional society for hematologists, working to advance understanding, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of blood disorders. Based in Washington, DC, ASH supports research, patient care, education, training, and advocacy, and publishes Blood, a weekly peer-reviewed journal that is highly cited in the field. Its activities serve hematologists, researchers, clinicians, and institutions involved in blood disorders, providing resources to advance the discipline and patient outcomes. In 2026 ASH participated in launching a data-sharing platform that unites genomics, gene expression, and clinical information from nearly 6,000 patients with blood cancers, in collaboration with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Munich Leukemia Laboratory.
