Founded in 1974 with a handful of clinicians working out of a trailer, Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center (ANHC) has grown into one of Alaska’s largest and most comprehensive primary care medical and dental practices. As Alaska’s first Community Health Center and a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) under Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act, ANHC was created to ensure everyone in our community can access high-quality, affordable care—regardless of income, insurance status, or life circumstances. Today, ANHC serves more than 15,000 patients through over 53,000 visits each year, offering integrated primary medical care, dental services, behavioral health care, pharmacy services, and enabling supports that help patients stay connected to care. Rooted in our mission and shaped by community need, we work every day to remove barriers, strengthen prevention, and advocate for policies that protect access to care for Alaska’s most underserved populations.
