Asset Performance Technologies, Inc. (APT) has developed the world's most extensive Asset Strategy Library (ASL) of reliability and preventive maintenance (PM) information (FMEA and PM Templates) that documents lessons learned in the US Electric Power Industry over the past 30 years. We market this database to the Oil and Gas, Electric Power, and other industries globally for asset management and PM development. The ASL is currently available in APT's new web-based platform, called Preventance, and includes advanced techniques for automatically optimizing PM recommendations on the basis of minimum net cost. This not only produces high quality PM solutions at reasonable cost but is the best way, and perhaps the only way, to balance equipment reliability with plant availability. Our approach is firmly founded on Reliability Centered Maintenance principles, but benefits from the greater analysis efficiency of PM Template methods, developed over a 20 year period by the US Nuclear Power Industry.
