The Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics (APGO) is a nonprofit, membership-driven organization that supports educators in women's health. Its network includes medical educators at teaching institutions across the United States and Canada, such as deans, department chairs, residency and clerkship directors, and faculty who train medical students and residents in universities and community settings. The organization is based in Crofton, Maryland, and is guided by a board of directors drawn from obstetrics, gynecology, and women's health care, with a small staff coordinating activities. APGO's mission is to advance high-quality women's health care by equipping educators with resources and support to train and empower the next generation of providers. Operating within the higher education sector, APGO functions as a professional association that helps elevate education and training in obstetrics and gynecology. A notable development in 2023 involved collaboration with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists to create a dedicated OB/GYN residency application platform for the 2024/25 cycle.
