The Association of Assistive Technology Act Programs (ATAP) is a national, member-based non-profit composed of state Assistive Technology Act Programs funded under the Assistive Technology Act. It coordinates activities among these programs and provides technical assistance and support to its members. Established in 1997 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., ATAP works to strengthen the effectiveness of assistive technology programs at the national, state, and local levels and serves as the national representative of state AT programs. ATAP operates in the government relations space, with its primary audience being the state AT Act Programs that participate in the AT Act network, for whom it promotes collaboration and advocates for their needs and interests within the public sector. In 2026, ATAP announced a partnership with Apple to host a webinar on accessibility, illustrating its ongoing external engagement.
