In 2002, the Aveda corporation chose Atelier founder Karie Bennett to open the flagship Bay Area Aveda lifestyle salon at Santana Row in San Jose. In June of 2007, Atelier Studio was opened, being the second Aveda lifestyle salon at Santana Row. Atelier has received the distinction of being one of the Top 200 fastest-growing salons in North America by Salon Today magazine for 8 years. In 2011, Atelier was the recipient of the North American Hairstyling Awards most prestigious honor: The Salon Master of Business Award, and was a finalist in the category in 2010 and 2014 as well. Atelier was also a semi-finalist for the Global Salon Business Award in 2006, and a winner and recipient of the award in 2008 in the category of Client Philosophy, Marketing, and Promotion.
