The Arizona Public Safety Personnel Retirement System (PSPRS) is a public pension fund, established in 1968, to provide pension benefits for the state’s firefighters and police officers. Over the years, our mission expanded to encompass the Corrections Officer Retirement Plan (CORP) and the Elected Officials’ Retirement Plan (EORP) and several defined contribution plans. Our goal is to ensure that the retirement plans are sustainable for our nearly 60,000 active members, retired members and surviving beneficiaries. We serve more than 300 employers and are governed by a nine-member Board of Trustees. Assets under management are approximately $23 billion. Each year, PSPRS distributes more than $1.4 billion to plan retirees and families living in and contributing to the economies of more than 280 urban and rural cities, towns and tribal lands in Arizona. The PSPRS team is highly regarded by peers and press, including the Arizona Capitol Times, Pensions & Investments, Chief Investment Officer and Institutional Investor. We have also been awarded the NCPERS Certificate of Transparency for our commitment to open disclosure and contributing to the public's understanding of public retirement systems.
