Bank of the Flint Hills (formerly known as First National Bank of Wamego), was chartered in 1876. Experiencing steady growth for the next 70 years, the bank moved it's location in 1972 one-half block west to a new, larger, and more modern building. In the early 90's more space was needed and the data processing and bookkeeping departments were moved to the building north of the main bank. In 1991 a branch bank was started in eastern Manhattan and a branch in Alma in 1999. In 2014, we changed our name to Bank of the Flint Hills to better represent who we are today and where we are going in the future. Through the years Bank of the Flint Hills has worked to stay on the leading edge of technology. Today the bank offers all types of checking and savings accounts, loan programs, online banking, safety deposit boxes, and ATM’s located in Alma, Wamego, and Manhattan. Bank of the Flint Hills offers 24-hour service and is constantly enhancing its customer services. With a complete line of services, the bank continues to make meeting the changing needs of its customers a priority. Bank of the Flint Hills is an independent, locally owned, locally controlled bank, with a proud history, including that of sound management, honesty, and a long tradition of giving back to the community.
