Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union is a banking institution based in Katy, Texas, with a history dating back to 1954. It began as an educator-focused credit union founded by W.D. Fussell and was originally chartered as Tri-County Teachers Credit Union, serving educators in Waller County, Fort Bend County, and Katy ISD. The organization established a culture centered on trust and collaboration and aimed to support educators who bridged the gap before their first paycheck, evolving as membership grew. 

In 2013 the credit union expanded its membership to include anyone living, working, worshiping, or attending school within 51 school districts, and it adopted the Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union name to reflect its broader reach across 13 counties. From a single Katy office, BVSCU has grown to operate 12 branches and serve more than 65,000 members across a wide regional footprint. It is federally insured by the NCUA and operates as an equal credit opportunity lender and an equal housing opportunity lender, positioning it within the banking industry as a community-focused cooperative.
