Bricolage was established in 2001 by James and Leslie Wilson.
The French word ‘bricolage’ describes a person who is able to transform everyday objects and materials, through an understanding of their fundamental uses, into an innovative invention.

The focus of the studio has been the reinvention of the true California life style, through research and innovative uses of ordinary and sustainable building materials. The studio also aggressively pursues sustainable architecture through strategic integration of new technologies.

The studio operates as a workshop of designers from all different disciplines, and this enables the studio to stretch its scope from architecture and interiors to landscape, product, event, exhibition, and graphic design. The individual works of James and Leslie Wilson including photography and installations have been exhibited and published in various publications in the U.S., Japan, Korea, and Australia.
