Brown & Brown, Inc. was founded in 1939 in Daytona Beach, FL by two cousins, J. Adrian Brown & Charles Covington Owen. Under the direction of Adrian’s son, Hyatt, a unique culture has been created which values individual initiative and instills an indomitable “can do” attitude in its employees. Today, the publicly traded company (NYSE: BRO) is led by the third generation of Browns – J. With the acquisitions of Roussel & Associates (2008), Al Phillips Agency (2009), First Horizon Insurance Agency (2011), and Spann Insurance Agency (2017), all these agencies combined make Brown & Brown Insurance of TN. Today, our office has 90 teammates handling accounts of all sizes in all industries. As one of Brown & Brown's largest Southeastern operations, our office provides a full range of insurance brokerage and consulting services.
