In 1888, businessman and entrepreneur Carl-Friedrich Bucherer opened his first watch and jewellery store in Lucerne with his wife, Luise, laying the foundation for becoming one of the world's leading luxury watch and jewellery retailers. Today, Bucherer has expanded its presence globally and continues to uphold the tradition of excellence established since 1888.  

The company has spent decades mastering the art of watchmaking and jewellery. We proudly offer our international clientele a broad range of luxury watch brands, including the most extensive selection of Rolex watches. The cooperation with Rolex began in the 1920s and has remained one of the company's mainstays to this day. In August 2023, Jörg G. Bucherer sold Bucherer to the company's long-standing and most important partner - the Swiss watch manufacturer Rolex - thereby securing the company's future. Despite the acquisition by Rolex, Bucherer continues to operate as an independent company within the Rolex group, preserving its legacy and commitment to excellence.   

Since 1888, Bucherer has established an exclusive reputation with its wide range of jewellery, the centrepieces of which are the jewellery collections designed and produced in the company's in-house atelier, as well as individually crafted pieces featuring particularly rare natural-coloured diamonds, unique colour gemstones, and sought-after pearls.  

Bucherer is present at exclusive locations across Europe and the United States, with more than 36 stores in Europe and 28 stores in the United States. In 2018, Bucherer expanded into the U.S. market by acquiring Tourneau, the largest watch retailer in the United States.  

The company employs over 2,400 staff and has been under the stewardship of the Bucherer family for three generations. Following the passing of Jörg G. Bucherer in September 2023, the company continues its legacy of excellence under new leadership. The Bucherer headquarters remain in Lucerne to this day.
