Calvin Theological Seminary, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is the sole theological seminary of the Christian Reformed Church in North America. Founded in 1876, the school offers graduate programs including the Master of Divinity, Master of Arts, Master of Theological Studies, Master of Theology, as well as doctoral studies and various ecclesiastical certificates. While most CRCNA ministers have received their primary theological education at CTS, nearly half of its students come from denominations beyond the CRCNA, representing more than 40 denominations worldwide. The seminary emphasizes biblical, historic Christian foundations and a Reformed perspective, while seeking to connect that heritage to contemporary ministry practice. It serves a diverse international student body within the religious institutions sector, preparing graduates for ministry in a variety of church contexts. In April 2026, Calvin Seminary announced a partnership with Dordt University to establish an M.Div. pathway, signaling expanded collaboration in denominational theological education.
