CANAL+ Group is a France-based player in the broadcast media production and distribution industry, headquartered at 50 Rue Camille Desmoulins, Issy-les-Moulineaux, Île-de-France 92130, France, and employing about 5,001 to 10,000 people. Founded as a French subscription television channel around four decades ago, it has grown into a global media and entertainment company. The group operates across the full audio-visual value chain, including production, broadcast, distribution and aggregation, and owns or operates STUDIOCANAL, Dailymotion, CANAL+ DISTRIBUTION, with telecom services through GVA in Africa and CANAL+ Telecom in French overseas territories. It holds equity stakes in Viaplay, Viu and UGC, and in September 2025 confirmed effective control of MultiChoice Group and began an integration that expands its footprint to about 40 million subscribers in more than 70 countries and roughly 15,000 employees in the combined group. In 2026, Canal+ Group announced a StudioCanal–Hachette Livre joint venture, formed a partnership with Sharpconsumer to improve the Smart TV user experience, launched dedicated channels in Belgium after securing UEFA club competition rights, and appointed Christophe Pinard-Legry as Chief Executive Officer for CANAL+ Europe.
