CaptainVineyards is a boutique winery located on the hills of Moraga, (Lamorinda) Ca. We grow our grapes on very steep hillsides at approximately 1000 ft. elevation. The varieties are Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Grenache and Pinot Noir. Our production is limited to what we grow which varies depending on mother nature to be between 5 to 13 Tons. This results in 250-700 cases of wine. In 2009 we were the first winery in the county to be awarded certification as Green Winery, as well as the Sustainability prize (Stewards of the environment.) 100% recycling of all the vineyard and winery organic matter, dry farming the vineyard, excluding use of harmful pesticides and using solar power for all electric uses. Sal is the winemaker and Susan is the viticulturist. Our wines are sold only at the winery or through the internet at http://captainvineyards.com/
