Cat-i Glass Manufacturing operates in the glass, ceramics and concrete manufacturing sector and is based in South Elgin, Illinois. Its origins reach back to Elgin Precision Glass, founded in 1965 by Carl Jaynes, which started with automotive sight glasses produced in a barn and eventually moved to a much larger facility. In 1995 Cat-i Glass Manufacturing was established to carry forward the legacy of EPG, built around a core team largely made up of former EPG employees with substantial glass industry experience. The company earned ISO 9001:2000 registration in 2006. It relocated in 2007 to a 75,000 square foot facility and has since expanded by acquiring two additional buildings, bringing the total footprint to more than 150,000 square feet. The engineering and management group brings more than 25 years of glass industry know-how, and the team uses its experience to produce parts that meet or exceed customer expectations.
