The Catamount Trail Association is a small nonprofit organization based in Burlington, Vermont, focused on winter trail access and stewardship. It develops, manages, and preserves the Catamount Trail, a public-access cross-country ski route that spans Vermont from Massachusetts to Canada, and it collaborates with partners to support the Trail while promoting awareness of Vermont's landscapes. Founded in 1984, CTA advocates for backcountry and cross-country skiing for the benefits they provide to quality of life, recreation, health, economy, and education. The organization’s mission is to connect people with Vermont's backcountry by promoting, protecting, and expanding winter trails and terrain, serving winter recreationists and partner groups as its primary audience. In 2024, CTA partnered with Stowe Trails Partnership and Stowe Land Trust to conserve land adjacent to Adams Camp, reflecting its ongoing emphasis on land conservation and trail support.
