The Chicago Urban League is a nonprofit organization based in Chicago, Illinois, and a historic affiliate of the National Urban League. Founded in 1916 to address the needs of African Americans migrating from the rural South to northern cities, it seeks to achieve equity for Black families and communities through social and economic empowerment. The organization collaborates with community groups, corporate partners, and civic institutions to help people find jobs, secure affordable housing, improve educational opportunities, and grow Black-owned businesses. As one of the largest affiliates nationally, it maintains a strong Chicago focus and advocates for economic and racial equity for Black residents. In recent years it has sustained active community engagement through events and programs, such as the Golden Fellowship Dinner and the Citywide Job Fair.
