Children and Family Futures (CFF) is a national nonprofit based in Irvine, California, with about three decades of experience supporting states, courts, and communities. It collaborates with state, county, and local jurisdictions to strengthen cross-system work involving child welfare, courts, and treatment providers through consultation, training, technical assistance, strategic planning, and evaluation. The organization focuses on aligning policy, practice, and accountability to translate evidence into everyday operations that improve child safety and permanency, with an emphasis on family recovery and well-being for those affected by substance use and mental health challenges.

CFF leads major national initiatives that connect policy with practice across child welfare, courts, and treatment systems, including the National Center on Substance Abuse and Child Welfare and a leadership role in Family Treatment Courts. Since 2009, the organization has supported more than 400 courts and received thousands of training requests, and its START model is recognized by the Title IV-E Prevention Services Clearinghouse and operates in eight states. The Research and Evaluation Team has delivered impact assessments across 70 sites in 28 states to inform cross-system improvements, and in 2020 the organization partnered with the Annie E. Casey Foundation to host a webinar on implementing Family First provisions.
