This global biosolutions company of 10,000 people is transforming how the world produces, consumes and lives. In 30-plus industries, its biosolutions help businesses meet their needs and the needs of our planet. Chr. Hansen was founded in 1874 by the Danish pharmacist Christian D. A. Hansen who invented an industrial process to extract rennet for cheese making. The company was a microbial powerhouse that developed natural ingredient solutions for the food, nutritional, pharmaceutical and agricultural industries.
