The City of Miami Springs is a local government entity in Florida that serves about 14,000 residents within a 2.9-square-mile area in the Miami-Dade region, bordered by Miami International Airport and neighboring communities. It operates eight departments, including Police, Public Works, Recreation and Golf, Finance, Zoning and Planning, Building and Code Compliance, Human Resources and Elderly Services, overseen by a City Manager who serves with an elected Mayor and four Council Members. The city consists largely of single-family housing with a historic downtown that houses professional offices, restaurants, and small retail. City facilities are centered at 201 Westward Drive near The Circle, the civic hub since its inception; in June 2026, the Miami Springs Police Department announced the appointment of Albert Vargas as Deputy Chief of Police.
