Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW) is a not-for-profit health insurer and managed care organization based in Seattle, Washington. Founded in 1992 by Washington’s Community Health Centers to address gaps in traditional insurance for Apple Health members, CHPW was the state’s first not-for-profit to serve Apple Health and later expanded to cover Medicare beneficiaries in 2007.
