The History of Consolidated Insurance Services The current edition of our company was formed in 1990 by Dennis W. Koontz & George P. Taylor, IV as a result of the merger by Commercial Insurance Managers, Inc. and C & S Insurance Agency. CIS is currently one of the largest independent locally owned agency in the county with licenses to conduct business in Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama. Our professional staff of nearly 20 people carry specialties in many various forms of insurance. They currently write most types of insurance such as property and casualty, bonds, life, health and employee benefits. We also have contracts with many other multinational specialty companies and access to many markets using our national brokerage partners. The agency was built on quality. We provide the top companies and back it up with service second to none. Consolidated Insurance Services has helped develop and implement new and innovative products for its clients. We developed a special program for overnight rentals of chalets that has been copied by many companies and has become the standard for the industry. We brought innovations for the municipal insurance clients and have become the largest writer of municipal insurance in all of East Tennessee. We have the ability and expertise to pull together markets and even form “Captive” companies for larger accounts.
