In 1999, Convention Services International was founded on this philosophy by Charlie Walraven, a former executive at the Opryland Hotel & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. While there, Charlie received the honor of Successful Meetings Magazine’s Convention Services Manager of the Year.

Charlie’s entrepreneurial spirit realized that his dedication and commitment to his clients combined with the experience and knowledge that he gained by directing the efforts of the Nation’s largest Convention Services Department and helping to guide The Opryland Hotel as a member of the hotels policy committee would provide a competitive advantage for CSI's clients.

Convention Services International currently has offices located across the United States, in addition to our main office in Old Hickory, Tennessee.  The company has immediate goals of further expanding its operations into all major markets in North America. We continue to handpick a select group of professionals to expand the companies’ new division, CSI Meetings. This client acquisition and service division of Convention Services International will be headed by Stuart “Skip” Walls, our Executive V.P. of Sales and Marketing.
