Established in 1991, COOLEY MONATO STUDIO (COMOS) is an independent architectural lighting design company in New York City offering a full range of lighting consultation services including: lighting design and fixture specification of interior and exterior architectural lighting and control systems; custom fixture and detail design specific to the requirements of the individual project; and site evaluation through fixture focusing services to assess conditions at the beginning of projects and to ensure the best results at completion.

CoMoS is known for integrating lighting through architectural details within high-end award-winning projects around the globe. CoMoS’s portfolio reflects a richly diverse range of experience from contract to residential to retail and hospitality, with many projects too unique to be categorized. Although projects of all types remain active in the studio, notable ongoing work includes Tiffany & Co., Michael Kors, Tom Ford, and new concept designs for a number of hotels and condominiums in New York City. More recently, prestigious lighting awards went to Barneys New York - Downtown Flagship,  Barneys New York - Beverly Hills, 1436 Beijing Flagship, the Waldorf-Astoria Park Avenue Lobby and Entry, David Yurman Madison Avenue, Mall of America, and NBCUniversal Lobby and Mezzanine Restoration at Rockefeller Center.
