Cormell-Streett & Patterson was formed in 1939 by Clifford Cormell.  Mr. Cormell was one of early Florence’s business pioneers.  He was responsible for many of Florence’s  residential developments, and he was instrumental in the growth of the west Florence area.  A founder of Francis Marion University, the baseball field is named after him.
 
Cormell was joined in 1941 by Ernest Streett, and they entered the insurance business.  Weston Patterson came to the firm in 1954, and Cormell-Streett & Patterson has grown from there.
