Day One Health is an international program in intensive newborn care that is active since 2005 in Vietnam, and supported by various local and international NGOs. Day One Health was registered in Redding, California, in 2017, as an independent charity. It works with governments, private companies and local and international partners to increase the availability and use of newborn healthcare technology in low-resource settings.
Day One Heath addresses the multiple challenges that hospitals in low-resource environments face with equipment in reducing neonatal mortality and morbidity. With its partners, Day One uses a three-part model that develops and provides appropriate equipment, intensive training and on going support to program facilities. Together, this helps save the lives and health of new born suffering from common and easily treatable conditions, such as jaundice, respiratory distress, sepsis and hypothermia.
