The Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) is a regional transportation authority created by a compact in 1962 and based in New Castle, Delaware. It serves public safety and economic development in Delaware and the southern counties of New Jersey, operating a multi-modal network that includes the Delaware Memorial Bridge, two ferry systems, and five airports. The ferry routes connect Cape May, NJ with Lewes, DE, across the Delaware Bay, and Forts Ferry Crossing serves riverfront forts, while the airports cover facilities in Delaware and New Jersey. DRBA serves travelers, residents, and businesses by providing reliable cross-state access across road, sea, and air. A recent development is the May 2024 partnership with The Landline Company to launch a motorcoach link between Wilmington's ILG airport and Philadelphia International Airport, illustrating an effort to expand inter-city connectivity.
