Denver Food Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit committed to reducing food waste and increasing access to nutritious food with our Denver neighbors.

𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆.

We recover fresh, surplus food from 25+retailers including grocery stores, wholesalers, farmers markets, catering companies, etc. Our incredible team of volunteers deliver this bounty directly to one of our No Cost Grocery Program (NCGP) partners, often by e-bike!

NCGPs are community-led grocery distributions which are located within communities with limited access to fresh, nutritious food. We aim to break down traditional barriers of the charitable food system, as the programs never require sign up or documentation like proof of income.

Our direct and decentralized model enables us to focus our recovery work on perishable, nutrient-dense foods that are inaccessible in many Denver neighbors - in 2024, 58% of the food we recovered was fresh fruits and vegetables.
