Direct Capital is New Zealand's leading private company investor. Since 1994, we have been at the forefront of developing New Zealand’s private equity industry. We are currently investing Direct Capital VII, a NZ$525 million fund which commenced in April 2025.

Direct Capital has a successful history of investing alongside owners and managers into large, profitable, privately owned, New Zealand and Australian businesses, often when they are considering one or more of the following:

-	succession planning - including a sale to the management team;
-	funding for the next phase of growth;
-	the acquisition of a complementary business; 
-	trans-Tasman expansion; or
-	preparing for an eventual IPO.

We typically invest between $20m - $80m of equity into companies and are comfortable with both minority and majority shareholdings.
