Duodecim is a Finnish scientific association founded in 1881 that supports physicians’ professional development through continuing education, publishing, and fellowships. Based in Helsinki, in the Uusimaa region, it connects more than twenty thousand doctors and medical students and about a hundred member associations, reflecting its broad professional network. The organization operates within the book and periodical publishing industry, providing resources for medical practice and health information to both professionals and the public. 

Its publishing arm produces textbooks, manuals, and databases to support clinicians’ daily work, while also offering reliable health information for the general public. The group has pursued international expansion, including English-language editions of guidelines grounded in evidence-based medicine and efforts to adapt the service for Latin American audiences with local collaborators. A recent development is a January 2026 partnership with Medixine Ltd, with scholarship selections coordinated by Medixine and Duodecim's publishing leadership.
