EGT Solar was founded in 2009 in Boise, Idaho, as only the second solar company in the state at the time. In 2009, there was no active solar market in Idaho, and thus EGT saw an opportunity to create a long-lasting, healthy, local solar industry through policy integration and an advanced customer education process. This culminated with the expansion to our current office/showroom location, where prospective clients can come in and learn about the ins and outs of solar and all other technologies that could complement an installed system. This was the foundation of EGT: to sell through education, keep customers' money in our local community, and strive to simply be better than the current and future competition. 

EGT worked tirelessly with local and state jurisdictions on writing code and planning review policies that are still in effect many years later and have stopped many fly-by-night solar companies from coming into the Idaho market and misleading consumers with pushy sales tactics and misinformation. 

EGT Solar has seen the low of lows in our local industry and will certainly be around for the highest highs yet to come. We are proud to have our fingerprints on the beginning of the Idaho solar market as the trailblazers that saw an opportunity and stuck with our vision through some rough early years. This has made us a very high character-seeded company that maintains our exceptional business ethics through honesty and commitment to our clients to always do what is in their best interest. As a truly local Idaho company, we see it as our mission to reach further and leave an everlasting imprint on solar in Idaho.
